Looking forward to getting after this one when I sort the electrics on the ET3... and after I rebuild the Spanish... and after I fix whatever breaks on the Servetta between now and then.

No seriously... I told Greasy and Poi Dog the rally project would most likely be my last Vespa project. This is a heck of a foundation to get stared with and soo much cooler because it's a heck of a surprise.

Where are ya in Cabo?

Going down to Todos Santos in July.

Staying right at the beach east of the marina. My buddy is taking me to surf the East Cape and then I'll be riding north for fishing in Bahia de Los Angeles with a friend that lives there. Los Cerritos just below Todos Santos is really growing. Should be hot when you come over but you'll get that nice Pacific breeze.

We all know that this can be a daunting task for the uninitiated. I'll be doing this job to the parts-bin VA14 "might have enough to build a scooter" project. I did warn that this was coming and knock, knock...here it is.

Carve off the bits you need and make a sweet office chair out of the rest.

Facts. Over the last year, maintenance on the doggo exceeded the purchase price of Dave. Still, the Rally is less likely to leave a steamer on the kitchen floor.

This guy in the UK does heaps of frame repairs including legshields, some amazing work here. And most jobs have a ton of photos to follow his process.
Mostly SS90's and replicas but translatable.

This pic shows him doing the horncast, the bit I'm least looking forward to. He probably has shares in the Vise-Grip company.

Any idea why he untacked and retacked the ends of the cross braces on the floors in the photoset with the primored SS?

Is that some sort of stiffener rod inside the crossbrace?

My guess is that he has narrowed not only the top of the legshield but the sides as well. Can't recall but I think an SS90 floor is narrower than any others.
I do know he rolls the edges to get a proper edge style.

Yes that's correct, I remember now he said he'd made up an SS-90 shape jig to use as a cutting guide.

The final product looks amazing, but the jig looks like a test piece from a welding class!

I saw one of his posts where he came here to do a smallie! So not entirely out of the question. How big is that bag of cash under your bed?
