Greetings and hello,
I am new to this forum and I am requesting your help.
Recently purchased a 2009 Piaggio MP3 500 (VIN ZAPM610X395001306).
It seems to have mechanical problems.
It will start and idle smoothly for about 3 minutes and then die.
While running, using the throttle to increase the RPM, it will frequently but not always rev up to about 3,000 RPM.
At that point the idle speed will slowly deteriorate in fits and starts until it dies.
I suspicion the problem is with the throttle body \ ECU \ injector assembly .

I am looking for a compatible ODB diagnostic scanner (three pin connection) to help with diagnosis of these issues.
Please can you recommend an affordable compatible OBD scanner.

Many Thanks.

I had one similar to this for my 2013 BV350.

Thanks for the reply, I need both the scanner and the cabling connection.
Can you tell me the make \ model of the scanner you used?

don't think cheap scanners will work even with this adapter cable. that's why I gave the above link that uses a pc. expensive scanners like obdstar make an expensive version that will work (not their base models).

I don't recall which scanner I used. I don't think it was one of the cheap ELM OBD2 scanners though. Honestly, I never got any really meaningful information from the scanner, and I never had a real reason to use it with the BV350. It was mostly for curiosity's sake. I believe that what you're looking for is the IAWdiag project (above). Good luck!
