HI all-
I need to replace one of the hoses that carries water to warm up the carburettor. I cannot work out the internal diameter? I clamped one today and tore it

I hate this design and I'm going to bypass it as its totally unneeded in australia and makes getting the carb out a PITA

It's been ages, but if I recall, I used 1/8" (3mm) ID hose for the carb warmer. It's easier to deal with if you lengthen the hoses a bit. I agree that it's a pain in the backside with questionable benefit.

So after pulling the carburettor for the umpteenth time today I'd like to permanently remove the two water pipes at the bottom of the carb as they are not needed in Australia and they are a pain in the arse. I can easily join the two hoses but my question is- are the two pipes on the bottom of the carburettor just pass through? Can I just leave them there with nothing connected to them?

Yes, they are just pass-through. Just join the two hoses.

Another option is to simply unbolt the warmer from the bottom of the carburetor. Hook up the hoses and leave it unbolted.

Tried that. Could not budge the screw and didn't want to break anything

I see that a lot with steel screws in these aluminum carburetor bodies (dissimilar metals). I've had great luck using a vise grip (locking pliers) to grab the head of the screw. Those screws have nice large heads to grab. Or if you have a hand-impact driver, they do nicely too.

Are they aluminum or just pot metal?

All the Kehin carburetors I've worked on are aluminum body. There pretty decent quality.
