This is on a 2013 BV 350 that I picked up used at a good price as there were some issues with broken plastics, etc

I could see there was an oil leak by the drain plug. It is from a cut in the metal. I surmise that at one point the oil drain plug was cammed out as it is an 8 mm hex. So someone cut it too deep.

I am looking at a JB Weld repair with sanding to a some surface. However, prior to that, I thought I would seek out other repair options

Thanks in advance

I don't know if it will cost you more to remove the cover and have it machined than buying a new cover. Otherwise you can try to fit a face cutter to a drill stand and repair it yourself.

Clean that out real well and JB Weld a brass crush wash on top of it. Sandwich the epoxy between the washer and the case.

JB weld should work fine. There's no pressure there.

So I think this repair will be successful. Filled with JB Weld and sanding flush. With a crush washer and new plug, torqued, it should be leak free
Filled and sanded flush
