Any special technique or method of getting that plate installed? I removed it to clean up and replace the green wire. Now I cannot get it back in. Already lost enough blood and broken fingernails. I am at the point where I am thinking just pack it with rags and move on...

So the harness needs to go though the recess in the front together with the throttle cable. In that space the plastic on the engine side just goes under the lip. I cannot get hands, fingers, anything in to guide it up above the lip. I have been thinking that maybe if you push the harness back into the body to create a bunch of slack it may make it easier. But the engine bulge on the inside prevents it from being 'slidden' in.
First world problems but really frustrating spending hours trying to accomplish such a basic thing. Still leaning towards rags |

Try getting it almost in and fanangling the wires into the slot. Then make sure the back is in the groove. After that, get the right front side in. Then focus on clicking the front left side down and in.
It takes some wiggling and wrangling, but the front right, then the front left corners in that order is the only way I've managed. Also, Grumpnut is correct in hearing it up with a heat gun or hair dryer, makeing it more playable. Good luck and remember, patience Grasshopper |

Harness need to go in the back recess and throttle cable in the front. The first you need to do is put throttle cable into recess, then slide tray down. It is easier when throttle and choke cables are disconnected from the carb.
You can warm it with hot water or air gun. I just left it for few hours on the sun. Good tip from qascooter - right side first then left side. I had done it few days ago. Bit PITA work but 15-20 minutes and done.

A bit of grease on the nubs on the underside helps them snap into place more easily. I know this pain. The first time I did it, I pressed it in the center and cracked it right in half. The advice to start on the front right corner and working around is right. That's what I did on the SECOND one. Always order more than one if there is a high chance of self-destruction.

You can install the later cover on an earlier frame although it's super easy either way. I don't know why people struggle…

The air for the combustion is supposed to come from under the seat without any external factors and be sucked into the carb by the combustion cycle. I dont know if it makes any difference. |

So what is the reason do we all think? If to catch oil i would rather have a hole in the frame it can drain from.
