Hi, I have a 2008 Vespa LX 50 2T.
Whenever I put the scooter on the center stand, the throttle cable seems to tighten by itself and the engine revs slightly.
I suspect it might be due to the way the throttle cable is routed and how the rear suspension moves.
Has anyone experienced this? Could it be an issue with cable routing or engine pivoting?
Thanks for any advice!

That definitely sounds like an issue with cable routing. The engine should not rev just because you put it on the stand.

Recently, I took my Vespa to a service shop where they adjusted the carburetor.
After that, I noticed this issue — the engine slowly revs up to high RPMs on its own when the scooter is on the center stand.
It wasn't doing this before, everything worked fine.
The mechanic says it's not their fault and that the throttle cable needs to be rerouted.
Is there any way to fix this myself?
Maybe I can adjust something near the engine or the throttle grip?

Also, yesterday I started the scooter while it was standing on its wheels, and it immediately revved up to high RPMs.
After removing the underseat storage compartment, I noticed that the throttle cable was stuck at the carburetor end, which prevented it from returning to its normal position.
I believe this could be dangerous.

What do you think?
Do you have any suggestions or have you experienced this issue before?
I'd appreciate any tips or advice on how to fix it or prevent it from happening again.

Hello,
Yesterday I removed the floorboard and simply pulled the throttle cable slightly toward the carburetor — the tension is now gone.
I also checked whether anything pulls on the cable when turning the handlebars, and everything seems fine.
Additionally, I made sure the cable housing isn't popping out of the carburetor.
Everything looks good now.
Thanks for the help!
One problem less 😊
