Hello,
i am new owner of mp3. I dont know anything about it las scooter that i have own was vespa pk50 befor 20 years.
I have buyed mp3 used from first owner with just 4000 miles.
when i was Buying it i have realized that foot brake works but there is no braking force that i think it should be. Front and back hand brakes work perfectly. The owner have told me that foot brake did not work from fist day and that they have told him on authorised service that foot brake is just a gimick for countries that need foot brake to drive it with car licence.
So i have buyed that.
Is there any way to make more power on that brake?
do i need to adjust force on it or change oil.
I did not found anything about foot brake on service manual.
How to oil bleed that brake?
what cover should i remove to get to brake?
Thank you

At least on my 2021 mp3 500 the foot brake works well with plenty of stopping power and without having to stand on it. Granted there might APPEAR to be a little less braking force as it does apply both the front and rear brake together. I may be wrong but it sounds to me that there might be an issue with yours. Just my two cents.

Try bleeding the brakes first.

Remember, the bike has LBS (linked brake system) which means you have 3 separate brake circuits and 3 master cylinders & fluid reservoirs

I know it shouldn't matter, but my MP3 & Hondas give me the best brake feel when I use Brembo LV (low viscosity) DOT4 juice.

The brake nipples for the foot brake are the front and rear caliper and the brake distribution valve hidden behind the fairings.

I bleed the foot brake starting with the left brake handle, right brake handle, brake distribution valve, left front caliper, right front caliper, rear caliper.

The sequence is important, to keep air from entering, and to keep pushing fresh oil front to back

And make sure you start with fresh juice in all 3 reservoirs

Also check if its got another brake fluid reservoir, as I found on on my yourban that was behind a cover above one of the front wheels.
I had to ask on here to what it was as initially had no idea.

Should be in the manual

Thank you for answers.
I did not have time for check so this information is great.
I have more questions about my mp3.
I know that i have opened theme about foot brake but when i need to change fluid in hydraulics i did not find anything about it? Shoud it have been changed every 2 years as the brake fluid?
What kind of fluid does it go in hydraulic? is it DOT 4 like in brakes?
In my city MP3-s are rare (i think that mine is the only one) so i think that mechanics dont have experience with it. so i have time to learn slowly i am not like mechanic pushed with working hours i can take some time to learn.
What engine oil do you use?
My model is euro4 sport so i got user manual where it is castrol oil recomended but there is only standards written not what oil is suggested only stated Castrol Jaso MA2 APi SN 5w 40. Older models have used ENI i racing 5w40 but i cannot find that oil.
Thank you

Tilt lock system used DOT4 and should be changed every 2 years (at a mininum) at the same time as the brake system.

Coolant should also be changed every 2 years. I use genuine VW/Audi G12+ coolant

I have downloaded the manuals before posting but manuals are not that good. I was driving Chevrolet and their manuals are unbelievable great. I could take manual and give it to my child to repair my car.
Piaggio manuals are great for starting but there are a lot of holes and differences.
As i mentioned my user manual is newer and recommends Castrol.
Older manual recommends AGIP (ENI).
In my manual for fork bearings is stated lithium grease but in older is Eni pv2 witch is calcium based grease and EP grease. I did not find any grease that can replace ENI grease. Eni grease is nautic grease and Castrol does not have that.
So what grease is recommended to use if there is no ENI.
I have searched automotive stores in my vicinity and did not find anything.
As close as i could find in stores is Ina BAPLEKS T2.
Maybe i could find some SKF grease or Castrol but there is no spherol.

Piaggio recommend whatever fluids and oils etc the manufacturers will give the factory for free (or very cheaply) to get that recommendation.

Just use any equivalent.
