Modern Vespa

Hi All,

I need to get to the underside of my sprint, to clean up some rust, and give it a spray paint.

I am considering just leaning 45 degrees, against a cushioned shed door, each side to do the work .

Question is, are there any issues with fluids etc leaning scoot so far , or more ?

does anyone suggest any other method, I don't want to dismantle anything, I have nothing I can use as a hoist, or support for a hoist.

You can lay it all the way down on its right side with zero problem, or on its left side with the possibility of a small amount (teaspoonful say) of oil getting into the airbox, which would be of no consequence either.

hmmm, the more I clean off the more I see,

Now attacking with wirebrush and hand sander ( black n decker )

have bought some zip rust converter, and some spray paint.

Managed to clean and hammerite the exhaust anyway

It looks like mostly light rust, but still a bit concerning. There is a bit of heavier rust after looking at your pic more closely.

After you've painted it, you might consider some clear spray-on bed liner to help protect even more.
