I don't even know how long I'd been wearing these mid-weight BMW gauntlet riding gloves Trixie bought for me as a birthday present long ago, maybe ten years? and almost certainly as many motorbikes ago as well.

They used to be all black, but parts of them have faded to almost white, and they're starting to fall apart at the seams in several places, but I must admit that they have certainly served me well for a long time.

I have been on the alert for a similar replacement pair for a few years now, but until last Saturday, just never found a satisfactory gauntlet style riding glove.

I almost always wear this type of riding glove, unless it gets so hot that I grudgingly will wear a lighter leather glove than these.

One of my big peeves when riding is having any wind blowing up my jacket sleeves, thus the gauntlet type, and it's not easy to find this type of glove with a large enough and long enough gauntlet section to readily fit over the leather jacket sleeves and make a decent wind seal, but these new Tourmaster gloves are exceptional in that regard and I like them very much....now to just get enough time and miles on them to break them in properly and all should be well again for another decade or so...probably longer than I will last this time around.

And for $69 US, they weren't all that expensive either.

Behold!...the glove is dead, long live the glove!
