It could be worse.
You could have had tickets to see Coldplay.

I've had ongoing technical challenges with my phone leading multi-day rides over the past years. I'll solve one problem only for a related one to emerge. Every time I expect * this* ride to be seamless..
So this year I had the brilliant idea to load my maps onto my recently retired phone which I'd decided to keep as a micro-laptop. That part was a success, though after celebrating my brilliance, I found out someone in the group was doing the same thing. What got me this time, was hitting the phone when I flipped the seat open and damaging the cable. Yes, I had the contingency plan of spare cables, but I'd only brought short ones for indoor use (all I found in my hurry). I got by, but it was complicated and at one point needed to switch to my new phone. When I got home, I ordered several replacements, only to later discover/remember that I already had a few longer ones. A new problem I notice while riding in the rain was raindrops hitting my screen both minimized my app and kept opening new ones. I guess supposed water resistance doesn't refer to operations. I would normally tuck my phone somewhere dry, but you have to know the rain is coming as well as having a decent place to stop. Anyway, just irksome things, but one of these days I deserve a break.

Just lower the sensitivity of the screen in settings.

Last throw of the dice put a Spiegen screen protector on, it is quite thick plastic and that with lower sensitivity should help methinks, I put them on grandkids a pixel 6a phones works great however they had to put sensitivity on max, so should work in reverse.

Had a mysterious (and nasty) wrist rash, which later became clear it was from petting him... (strange how it doesn't affect thicker skin like palms and soles). All hell broke loose the week before getting married. It went systemic to the point it broke out between my toes. I literally wrapped my chest in Saran wrap under my suit so it couldn't ooze onto my skin. Tried cortisone in desperation, which only gave me side effects. I have PI radar now. |

Got the beginnings of a Hernia.
Shall I wait 6 months for the NHS to sort it out or just pay $5000 and get it sorted out in weeks ? |

Fair point. It's not painful but you can tell something has popped a little bit.
I think I'll tolerate it for now. |

Do check this out: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/inguinal-hernia/symptoms-causes/syc-20351547 My son-in-law's mother had one that went bad. She didn't attend to it until the pain became unbearable (she was afraid of surgery). By the time she went to the hospital it was too late. She had surgery, but sepsis had already developed. She suffered for over a month before dying. |

Yeah, it's not painful yet but you can feel it move in and out when sitting down.
It also "pulls" a bit after a long walk. Gentleman, thank you both for your advice. I promise not to leave it too late. |

You'll know when you have had enough of it. I had one that just started out as noticeable, then bothersome and then onto down right painful. By that, I mean, at first, there was a twinge of pain at the end of the work day. Then by 2 in the afternoon, and I had to be careful of any movement. Eventually, I could only put a couple hours of work at best and felt like I was getting kicked in the crotch every day. That's when I gave up and went under the knife.

I'm coming around to thinking that I might just shell out and get it resolved ASAP and not wait for the inevitable increase in discomfort because I'm an impatient little bastard and I don't want to feel uncomfortable when I'm riding.
Thanks again. Watch this space. |

Thank you. I appreciate that.
Both my Father and Sister have suffered with them in the past and for some reason when I was 2 1/2 years old my stomach went pop so it definitely runs in the family. I'm leaning towards Private Health Care. Bugger the expense. |

Good advice Jim.
I've played the "Oh it's nothing important" game in the past and I lost pretty badly. I'll get on this tomorrow. Edit - I've just spent $360.00 on Kymco spares |

Call on the work phone. Didn't recognize the number, but I picked up. Person at the other end, who won't provide me with his name calls me a "coward" and tells me he is "praying" I'll "die a slow and painful death and <my> family will suffer, too."
Unpleasant to say the least. |

Bike shop called and said the offending metal was dead centre and have managed to patch it so there's a bright side I guess.

The Rolls Royce Cullinan, Audi A8 and BMW 5 Series that didn't move over in stationary traffic so I could filter, when all of the trucks and vans did.
Funny how they could use their mirrors but the elite can't. ( small e ) And it was pissing down with rain. Arse. ⚠️ Last edited by Bill Dog on UTC; edited 1 time

British-American Motorcycles (dot com) has had my money for a luggage rack they touted as "in stock" since June 8.
I have been told on multiple occasions "it should be out by next week!" It is now seven (7) days until we leave Maryland for good. They don't respond to emails, they don't return phone calls. Ugh. I guess a chargeback is my only option at this point. /shrug |

We have a mouse(s) raiding our house at night. It (they) are leaving mouse turds on our counters, and various other places. We do not leave food out, but that doesn't stop them from searching.
I set four traps with peanut butter, pushing it far into the triggers - next day, the butter is gone, the trap unsprung. I even pushed some pb into steel wool, and fixed it to a trap. Yup, next day, the pb was gone, the steel wool intact, the trap sprung, but no mouse carcass. This is escalating to full-blown war! Today, I go to level 3, which has always worked in the past: I take a peanut, drill a hole in it, and tie it to the traps' triggers with thread. If that doesn't work, I'll escalate to a bucket trap. It's a PITA to set up, but war is hell, as has been said often. Will update as events unfold |

Then we got a cat who is an absolute predator. No trophies. She is a rodent killing machine and eats her catch, nose to the tips of their tails. I haven't seen a rodent near our house in years!
I went out to bring Minnie in for the night and found her halfway through a vole. I left her to finish up, went out 20 minutes later, and she'd caught another! I scooped her up and some nighttime critter got a free meal.
