I've been tracking down a bevy of faults with a friend's '12 GTS Super, and have been knocking them down bit by bit.
Learned more about diagnostic tools like IAWDiag and using it to debug the scoot has proven invaluable once the obvious problems were found via visual inspection and rectified. Data is a great way to confirm that wiring harness repairs to the lambda probe connector worked.
While checking the HV coil, I found damage to the plug lead and loose connections. Parts were ordered, but I wanted to test the coil itself.
I'd been batting zero on simple tests and the manual was little help, but a series of connections diagrams caught my eye. It listed two power leads to the coil connector. I could read resistance across the two pins, but nothing to ground.
Rolling the coil over in my hand. I had an epiphany:
This is a coil-on-plug module that isn't on the plug.
Looking at testing info for 2-wire COP modules, the test results finally made sense. Waiting for my "race" plug wire to arrive from ScooterWest now.
So, your HV coil is actually a COP module with a need for separation.
