A guy in a blue VW Touran pulled out in front of me earlier while showing very little consideration so I overtook him and then slowed down which annoyed him.

He tried to overtake me so I speeded up.

This annoyed him further.

What ??? All the handicap spaces full?

I was on the Vespa headed into town the other day. Apparently 30mph in the 25 zone wasn't fast enough for the Subaru driver behind me so he passed me at an intersection in the right hand turn lane in a construction zone only to get one car length ahead of me.

In traffic.

Where I was immediately behind him at every subsequent intersection. At least six intersections. Because suburbs.

Yet again I've received an automated reminder that the time of my appointment is 02:00pm There's no such fucking time! 02:00 signifies a 24hr clock (which many members here are most comfortable with) - adding the pm means it's a 12 hour clock. The correct way to announce it would be 2:00pm (or 2:00p.m.) Either would be fine - 02:00pm just grates.

I have a belief that people who have a vehicle that's bigger than yours feel entitled to be in front of you.

I remember being chased in traffic by a very insecure man in a convertible Mercedes Benz that I'd filtered past.

His number plate read DANE.

Also, isn't it odd that you can predict which kind of cars will pull out in front of you ?

I think there's definitely an element of that at play, yes. But I also think some people just manage to bring out the worst in other drivers. And I would not be at all surprised if you possessed that special ability.

I live in Dane County. Wisconsin. USA. This does not piss me off, actually, other than, well, other than things that piss me off not to be discussed here. I just wanted for some reason to say I live in Dane County.

I just believe that if you drive so badly that I feel that I believe that you've put me in danger I'm going to get my own back.

Problem with that philosophy here in the states is that sort of behavior could get you shot.

There are some vehicles that I won't do that to. Black Range Rovers or Ford Raptors for instance.

A lot of that going around. Meanwhile, don't stress out about stuff that is beyond your control (it took me a while to get this). Turn off the TV, internet, etc.., listen to some music, go for a walk and listen to the birds. Our time here is finite, don't let the bastards get you down.

or go in the store and tell the management someone parked in the motorcycle-only parking, and you're ON a motorcycle and have nowhere to park, would they mind if you parked right next to the door? either you'll get a spot right next to the door with management's approval, or they'll embarrass the owner by paging them to move it or just tow it.

We have an unfortunate issue with a lot of unlawful dumping in our county. there's a great recycling yard not too far away run by the county, which is free for anyone to take anything to (minus a few hazardous things like pressurized tanks, fuels, etc).

So with us having a bunch of moldy laminate flooring from the basement when the water heater pipe went splorch, I rented a uhaul trailer, loaded all the nasty moldy flooring into it, and headed off to the recycling yard.

Except I was turned away because "we don't allow rental trailers or trucks in here at all, it's too dangerous."

....

If it weren't for government, who would solve the problem of illegal dumping by building a big place that's free to dump at, but then not let you use it?

After years of big, long rides that were always fun and comfortable, I have now taken my first uncomfortable scooter ride.

I just got off of The Big Ugly, my great Yamaha Xmax, in Weaverville, NC after a 450 mile ride up from Jacksonville.

The last half of the ride had me in pain from my upper back, neck and shoulders. Four hours of that.

I have had butt pain on my unloved Honda NC700X, but discomfort on a scooter is rare.

I hope it was a once only, but if not, I might take two days to get home.

It might be a good thing that I didn't do the Cannonball this year.

I am floored that there is a motorcycle spot at a CostCo!! But also my town has approximately 0 motorcycle spots anywhere.

While driving through Missouri on my way to Madison to visit family, I got stuck in start & stop traffic due to an overturned semi in the left lane (one of at least 4 I saw yesterday).

At one point, I looked in the rear view mirror and realized that the guy behind me in the the 2020 Ram 1500 wasn't going to stop.

Sure enough, he ran right into me.

We pulled off to the shoulder and he got out with his insurance info in hand, and immediately took responsibility for it.

We were both uninjured, and the damage is minor enough that both trucks are fully operational. I filed the claim with my insurance via their app before I even left the side of the road. He filed it with his later and even called to let me know he had done so.

About an hour after the collision I remembered that I have front & rear dash cams, so I have saved the video and will be uploading it to my insurance clams later today.

There was another spot (which still may be there) which was behind some bollards. Unfortunately, people were putting there carts in there and, one time, after I parked my scooter, a woman drove her car into the space. I told one of the security guards who came over and told her to get her car out of there.

I've uploaded the video to my insurance company, and found out what my next steps are, and the timeline. It'll get taken care of when I return to Dallas next week.

I have no idea what a Chicken Jockey is, but it seems to stir up the littles.

The NC700 had one of the worse seat ever put on a bike. Truly horrible on what was a great long commuter/ touring bike. I don't know what Honda was thinking.

I replaced it with a Sargent seat.

No better.

They offered to change the padding but I chose to sell the bike, replacing it with a Yamaha Xmax that I like very much.

I'm generally against bogus whiplash claims, but it's evident from the video that the RAM driver was otherwise engaged (cellphone maybe?) and hadn't noticed you stopping.

Sometimes people who drive round in 2 tons + of steel without due care and attention need an etiquette lesson is all i'm sayin.

If you are going to replace the top bearings you'd swap out the bottoms regardless wouldn't you.

I'm surprised that they have lasted this long.

The top bearings got trashed and replaced about two years ago. (Got the mechanic to do it).

Bottom are harder as you obviously have to drop the fork and disconnect the brake line.

Lotus Cars sales down by 42% and there's talk of closing the factory at Hethel amd moving it to the USA.

So maybe they'll FINALLY get some proper cupholders. Sheesh!

Yes, this morning I got cut off during/in a turn, in which there are (2) lanes.The idiot just wanted mine instead of the one they were in. I've read where others seem to have drivers of certain brand vehicles that do this sort of thing. Here we have a lot of Mercedes and BMWs. These drivers are usually polite and courteous. It's the Suburban drivers here that do stupid shit, then act like they are entitled to do so.

Which achieves no positive outcome whatsoever and in fact only serves to mildly annoy everyone within earshot.

As I've got older I've realised the other driver has just made an error rather than a calculated reckless manoeuvre.

I just swear "you f#####g p###k" to myself and get over it.

Trouble is, if you don't let them know they've made a bad decision, they'll think they can do that manouvre again - and again. Blast them every time. Yes - others will hear it, and those close will see. Good.

I was 3 vehicles back and a long line of approaching cars.
Nope. I scooted up on the right shoulder.
A Ferrari convertible "waved" at me!
