New here and just wanted to say hi.

Piaggio BV250ie Tourer is what I ride. Great scooter for touring. Does Highway speeds put 70-75 comfortably and it is pure joy on those 2 lane state highways.

Right now I have it in pieces though. Lost the keys, ALL (the only key I got from the previous owner) so as you well know the fix is not easy and means I gotta ship my ECU somewhere to get his Sweet Ride going again. Or Replace it.

Future Plans:
Delete the mass evap canister
better rear rack that will cary a more weight
Adventure tires (I live in Central Oregon and you end up on dirt roads pretty often when going out to places like painted hills or Hole in the ground).

Anyway, happy to be here and to have an amazing community with so much knowledge about these Scoots.

Duces

Welcome to MV from down in The Dirty T!

AF1 or Scooterwest should be able to help you with prepping the ECU for new keys.

I just helped a buddy prep a SportCity Cube 250ie (same powertrain) for the '25 Cannonball, very nice machine! Color me impressed with a big wheeled QUASAR.

Hope you find the help and support you need here, folks are generally awesome and share their knowledge and support. Take a moment to peruse the FAQs and Read Mes to get the lay of the land.

Thanks y'all.

I'll check out those tires. I would really like to find som tires with tread similar to the 70's Hondas. Like the attached photo. They are perfect for the combo of street and dirt roads.

That is exactly what I found as far as the key go so My ECU is getting shipped somewhere. I messaged Jim since he seems to be the guy to talk to about this. Waiting to see what he has to say and then I'll decide where I'm sending it.

If that was jimh then I'm afraid he's no longer around. Contact Scooterwest or AF1 Racing directly - they are both very approachable, and 'on side'.

Just talked to Scooter West. Just gotta scrape together the cash.

Jimh no longer around as in not doing the work or no longer on this plane. Either one seems like a pretty big loss to the community.

We don't actually know. But yes, it's a big loss. Jimh was a saint.

He truly was.

Miss that guy.

Every once in awhile someone will post that pic of him with a muppet head cruising down the street on a shifty and it makes me smile.

Welcome to MV. Hoping you get your ride back together soon.

As for tires, Heidenau K66 is a great option. Another choice to look at are the Dunlop Mutant. Lots of riders tackling mixed surfaces have had good things to say about this tire. I don't know what your tire size is, but they don't have a Mutant size for the 12" wheels
