I played with the idle mixture screw and idle screw and when I enrich the mxiture it sort of levels out, but my tire spins quite a bit

someone said valves. another my transmission, which I just reinspected because I thought it could be a bad clutch causing the spin, idk everything seems fine.

The idle mixture screw and idle screw aren't adjusted correctly. Find some retired guy who worked in a Motorcycle shop in the 70s or 80s. They remember how to adjust carburetors.

It's an ET2, it can't be valves!

Adjusting the mixture and idle speed *theoretically* should be done by monitoring CO and CO2 levels, but no-one I know ever does that!

With the bike fully warmed up, get a reasonable idle speed with the idle speed screw, then adjust the mixture for maximum revs. Reduce the idle speed to that reasonable level with the idle speed screw, rinse and repeat until you can no longer reduce the idle speed without the engine getting unhappy.

Job done.

This is assuming of course that the carb is clean as a whistle and isn't worn out already.

Its an LXV 150 and I do believe I do a valve adjustment on it

I understand the technique, but i just couldnt get it right without it sounding too rich and sending the wheel spinnging

left is lean and right is rich for mixture screw?

Glad its only my bad adjustment - just getting it out the garage from the cold weather

Then WTF didn't you say so.

Your profile declares ET2 as the only carb'd bike.

Sorry I haven't updated that.

I'm in NY and been buying and refurbishing modern Vespa for the past year. So it's a revolving door of models, but mostly everything from 2000-2010

Do you think that sounds like badly adjusted valves?
