I would like to get some more power out of my 2005 GT 200L. However, Malossi item 3116208 is discontinued. I can get Malossi parts 3113955, 3813273 and 5911962, but do I really need them all? According to SIP's website, I can get more performance by just fitting the Malossi cylinder head (3813273).

Your comments would be appreciated.

I don't have such an improvement, but I'm afraid that just installing a Malossi cylinder head won't be enough, I doubt the cylinder compatibility. The increase in performance will also be associated with a Malossi cam, and it will be necessary to adjust the carburetor. It will be financially demanding, maybe it will be better to replace the gt200 with a gts300. If you decide on your project, I wish you much success.

From Malossi's instruction book for the cylinder head:

"Malossi Head Assembly with Original Cylinder
To assembly the Malossi head with the 250-300 cc original cylinder, it will be necessary to slightly machine the piston's valve area to avoid valve collision and to lower the original cylinder by 0.5 mm to restore the original compression ratio (Fig. 9).

Attention: After modifying the piston, proceed with an assembly test. Manually rotate the crankshaft to determine if the piston collides with the valves."

I don't think you can use it with the original cylinder on the GT 200, likely due to the much shorter stroke of the engine.

If you get the entire kit, it will make the scooter perform about as well as the first generation GTS HPE engine. It adds about 25% more horsepower, and you feel it. You're only changing the displacement by 10%, and the Vespa carb is pretty rich to begin with, so you don't need to do much in terms of jetting. I think I went from a 92 to a 94, but it ran well with the 92 as well.
