As helmets are critical pieces of equipment and most all of us prefer preserving our heads, I came across this site that does comparative testing of helmet. All the helmets meet EU standards, but they can differ significantly in the protection they provide. The testing and advice is by the UK government.
Be safe and have fun!

If I drove a Sherman tank, my 1939 tanker helmet would be perfect, but seeing that it doesn't even have a chin strap, I've decided that it's probably not the best for my motorcycling or scootering adventures.

The Sharp study data has been often cited and discussed on here.
Personally my takeaway from numerous studies and reports was the significance in lower crash stats of white or light coloured helmets and that is pretty much all I have ever owned.

I've been looking for a replacement helmet for that LS2 Citation II I've complained about. I bought it because it's ECE 22.06 certified, but I just don't like it.

The reality is, most of my riding is in town in speed zones of 40mph or less. Yesterday I saw a bicyclist riding every bit as fast as I do wearing a styrofoam bike helmet and a little spandex. I looked down at the plate mail I was wearing and wondered why I was so hot ...

I don't want to get into the toreador pants debate, but I have taken lately to wearing my old half helmet with some sunglasses and my gloves sans jacket. And I do like the feel of the wind as I'm riding.

Last week I went looking for another helmet and actually tried on some 3/4 lids, something I was opposed to in the past, but have been rethinking.

I tried an HJC and then the Shoei J Cruise 3, both of which I liked, but neither of which actually fit in the undersea storage on the Vespa.

I'll have to keep looking.
