Hello guys I am Daksh from India having vespa super 150 1986, I just rebuilt it's engine for the 1st time in its life so it covered 2.5Lakh kms and was still running from 1986. I changed all bushings but the engine is shifted to left side causing the carb cover to scratch chassis and also I am unable to install carb cover/housing lid. Sharing some pics below please help asap.

Looking closer at your picture, the rear tire does seem to be straight. The body next to the carb looks deformed. Maybe you just need to "persuade" it in a bit for more clearance.

Yes. It can be moved over, almost touching the shock.

Welcome.

I'm Not sure how "1986" & "Super" go together?

The picture from the rear is rather dark, so hard so see what's going on with the tyre, however, as already mentioned, there seems to be a lot more on the right than the left. Are you sure it hasn't been smacked in the left at some stage? Is the wheel on a serious lean (bottom to the left)?

BTW: we love photos here, so the more the merrier.
The body of My VBC would rub/catch on the carb box whenever i took off rear shock & pivoted motor, so I smacked where it was rubbing with a big rubber mallet... never been a problem since!

Well I am attaching the another photo here and the issue is resolved, the shock was enlarged by using a bolt so it's factory stock now and everything is fine check the alignment in the photo.

It stopped colliding with the chassis after removal of this bolt, this bold works best for scooters with 10" tyres mine is having 8" so chassis is diff, u can use it on sprint models or lml vespa stellas and other things, this bolt is reliable and offers more stability to your shock and comes with a increased height too, it only damages the rubber damper which is installed above the shock to mount it on the chassis.

I'm sorry but I don't do Instagram. I have to say that I don't know much about Bajas. Did they make a Super in '86 with 8" wheels? I thought 8" wheels left town in the '70s.

What questions do you have about this website? I am sure there are a few people who might be more helpful with that than me....

As far as stability goes, it seems to me that all the forces locating the motor to the frame are at the swing arm bushings. I have never understood how the composition of the top buffer has anything to do with handling as all the forces between the frame and the rear of the motor through the shock are purely linear. Different springs/rates or different shock designs or ride height, sure. But that small block of rubber/poly?

Yes bajaj did make super with 8" wheels, they made it upto 2000s and the bajaj super is exact copy of vespa super, here in India we got only 3 engine options from bajaj, bajaj chetak, super got 150cc 2 stroke 4spd, bajaj 150,priya got 150cc 3spd and bajaj cub 98cc 3spd. Well lml introduced many other scooter engines too, 98cc, 125cc,150cc, 175cc but all those were flops, only engine running best in Indian market is 150cc 2 stroke for scooters. All other engines were declared as engineering failures and other reason for the fail of those were spares, only 150cc had enough spares to keep moving otherwise at that time u could have to wait for months for spares. Another thing the scooter trend has left India years ago, no scooter rides could be seen easily, I am the only scooter rider in my city. People who keep scooters are just enthusiasts here. I got 12 motorcycles by the way, 1981 Yezdi roadking aka jawa 250 bigger cyl version, 1984 Yezdi deluxe aka jawa 250 type 353, 1986 super, 1997 self start lml vespa NV 150cc 2 stroke, and other rare 4 stroke bikes.
