Hi,

I have just managed to remove the exhaust header nuts on my 2022 Supertech.

Gave me quite a few headaches, as some corrosion was evident.

Soaking the nuts with plenty of release oil eventually worked, as I was afraid of rounding the nuts, or snapping the studs.

I did use a six sided socket.

Thinking about using either a dome nut ,or doubling up on the exhaust nuts to prevent any further corrosion on the studs, in the event of removing the nuts again.

I plan to remove the exhaust entirely in the winter to repaint with high temperature paint.

Any thoughts on the dome nut idea?

Replaced the nuts with new copper M7 ones for the moment

I'd stick with single copper nuts.

The issue you will find with switching to a different nut is that most M7 nuts take an 11mm socket. The ones Piaggio uses take a 10mm. There isn't a lot of clearance between the studs and the exhaust manifold, and many 11mm sockets just won't fit.
