Any idea where it goes? I have a spring on both the center and side stand both work. This spring looks like it sheared off. Any help or pictures is appreciated!

Thank you will figure out how to put it back on once I replace the spring. Safe to drive it with it off?

It looks like the broken spring is not the one that connects the swinging arm with the silent block bracket but one from the center or side stand. There are two springs in each stand.

Hm, also a possibility... I had ruled that out as it said in the opening post that the spring from the main stand is in place...

Jeffsvisor: Can you measure the diameter of the spring?

22mm =0.866 inch = swing arm spring
19mm =0.748 inch = main stand spring (please also doublecheck this value with the remaining spring on the main stand)

SKU for spring Mainstand is: 582850

it looks more like this one. I only see one spring on center stand on the right hand side. Its 19mm in diameter and more like 115 in length

The spring on the main stand consists of two interlocking springs. Does it look like this on your bike?

Hmm... if both springs of the main stand and the spring of the side stand are there, then I think only the spring of the engine swing arm remains... I don't know of any other spring of that size on a Vespa...

I went to the dealer today. He had another GTS300 on the showroom floor. we located it up under the Vespa. It's a spring that hangs down from bottom of the motor. When it broke, I noticed how clean the spring looked compared to the side stand and center stand springs, and I see why it was up pretty far from the bottom if the Vespa.

He was unsure why it's needed but ordered me a new one for less than $4.00. It's not a large Vespa dealer in fact only total of about 8 Vespa for sale so will likely take a while to arrive. In the meantime, been riding it with now issues.
