HELP
2023 Vespa 300 was running fine. Wife Rode it to dinner. She went to start it when leaving and nothing. NO Headlight and Won't turn over. I put a brand new AGM battery in it, NOTHING. Put the new battery on the charger (AGM setting) for 2 days, nothing. Signals work, horn works, modes work but bike does not turn over. Cycled the side stand about a thousand times, nothing. When the side stand is down the INOP light comes on. also, cycled the start switch a million times, nothing, when the start switch is OFF the INOP light comes on as normal. It was running fine for the last 2 months, went to dinner, went to leave, nothing. HELP

Does the starter motor turn when trying to start or not?

Can the fuel pump be heard when the ignition is switched on?

Do the brake lights come on when you apply the brakes? Test both brakes!

Check fuses in glove compartment? A visual check is not enough, measure with a multimeter or test lamp.

Thanks for the reply's.
I've flipped the ignition switch about 100 times.
The X light comes on (dashboard) when I turn it off and it goes out when I put it to RUN.
The fuel pump comes on BUT NO starter motor.
Brake lights come on when I squeeze either of the brake handles.
Metered all the fuses including the main.
I changed the battery in the FOB.
I've tried the little black square putting it on the upper left knee pad.
Still nothing.

Do you hear a click from the starter relay when you press the starter switch?

If so, measure the voltage at the starter +ve connection to check it actually gets any power. If no volts - change the starter relay. If 12V or more, get the starter itself checked (an unlikely scenario).

If no click - change (or clean) the starter switch.

Your picture above shows the engine start inhibited X in the display.

Are you certain that you have used the engine kill switch in the correct way? Just wondering, because I did the same thing recently and the starter wouldn't operate. I never use the kill switch but did this time because I wanted to check the operation. If you cycle the switch back from off to on within 10 seconds, then the starter will engage. If you are after 10 seconds, then you need to turn the main keyless switch to off then on again. I realise that this is probably not relevant but it caught me out!

From the owners manual:

With the emergency stop switch «A» in position «1» RUN it is possible to start the engine; if the emergency stop switch «A» is in position «0» OFF it is not possible to start the engine, and if it is running, it will stop.

To start the vehicle again and switch off the warning light, the emergency stop switch must be returned to the RUN position or the side stand must be raised within 10 seconds.

Press the starter switch "B" to start the engine.
If the emergency stop switch is returned to the RUN position or the side stand is raised AFTER 10 seconds, the engine start inhibited warning light starts flashing, indicating that the engine cannot be started.

To enable the vehicle start again, turn the start switch to the OFF position and then to the ON position.
