Crying or Very sad emoticon

Was out riding around today, and trying to get the jetting right on my p125x. Revved up the engine to listen for splutter, and how fast it returned to idle. The engine died out, and that was it, no spark after that. What the hell.

Pulled the plug. It was wet and oily. Cleaned it off good, and tried it. Nothing. The tachometer isn't even reading anything when I kick it over(it normally does), and I'm not getting spark when holding the plug against the body. The coil/condenser/points are all recently replaced. I'm at a loss here

1st:
Disconnect the green kill wire at the motor junction box and see if you get spark.

You have no pulse so no tach reading, of course.
Could be an alternative to trying to see spark in daylight? Nerd emoticon

Perfect time to convert to electronic! Have you pulled the rubber plug on the flywheel and make sure the points are opening and closing?

Didnt want to leave this open-ended.

It WAS the sparkplug! Just as I sat down, cracked open a beer, and was ready to start pulling the flywheel, i thought "lemme replace the plug quick". That was it. $200 tow, for a sparkplug Facepalm emoticon . Mustve fouled the hell out of it when jetting. Thanks for the suggestions.

Good news and thanks for posting the solution. Too often threads are left open.. The absolute minimum to have on hand is a dry plug and the wrench to change it.

It sucks you had to learn that lesson the expensive way with a tow, but two strokes foul plugs way more easily than people expect.

I'm with Moto64 that you should never leave the house without a known good plug and the wrench to change it.
