Hi-

I'm looking to sell my wife's 2005 ec2 50 scooter. It's been hanging out unused in the garage for four years. We'd rather see someone use it instead of collecting dust.

I was cleaning out the seat storage area and I found a lot of goodies: the owner manuals, tool kit, Vespa temporary tattoos, and two Vespa magnet logos! I don't think we ever cleaned out the storage area after we bought the scooter!

Is there a collector's market for a 2005 Vespa? I don't know if some completionist would be excited about the goodies, or if it's just considered old.

Thanks!

The ET2 is considered "Modern" as it has the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) - but it's also a 2-stroke, and although that's older technology it's favoured by many.

Be aware than anyone buying it will have quite a lot to replace before they even think of starting it up and riding it. The carb will need a very thorough clean, the fuel and vacuum hoses and tyres will all need replacing. Even so, you should get a pretty good price if it's in otherwise good condition with medium mileage and service history.

Thank you for the info!

The good news is that I was able to get the scooter running with minimal effort. That doesn't mean it doesn't need some TLC.

It is vintage technically but the et was never considered a vespa by purists (they thought it was closer to the typhoon or sfera) - it took forever for PXs to be acceptable at classic rallies and though it's seem to be ok to ride a gt (the comfort for older riders might be the driver for that acceptance) the vespisti seemed to have left the et behind - I'm not sure they'll ever be classic vespa - maybe more a curiosity like the cosa (though there are way more ETs out there
