The SC 2025 page has been "paused" since yesterday, and I've seen scattered comments about a tragedy. Does anyone know what happened?

From what I gather from FB, one of the riders hit a (small) deer at around 60 mph. Went down, reportedly unconscious for 5 minutes, but up and filming after. He's out....

I knew about that one. A 4-day website "pause" the day before the finish just seemed odd to me. Maybe the site's being botted. Hope it's nothing sad. Thanks.

Do you mean ScooterCannonball dot com? If so it's working for me, and the results are all the way to day 8 entered so far. I've been keeping tabs on it everywhere I can and it seems that the entering of points each day has been a bit slow.

And everything else bar a couple of Aprilias is Japanese. Very telling.

Even the Cushman had a Honda in it.

Fed31st's GTS ate itself. Replaced it with a PCX I believe.

Lots of DNF's because of the high level of entries.

You are correct! There was a tragedy early morning Saturday, June 28 leaving Pecos,TX.
A rider yielded to oncoming traffic, they pulled out for a left turn into the Flying J gas station. A truck came out of nowhere and hit the rider at significant speed! The rider passed immediately.

I understand why they shut down the site. But I am surprised they haven't released anything yet.

Information was not released until the family was notified. Nobody wanted them to hear about it first on social media. Rider was going straight, truck pulled out of gas station from eye witness report I heard.

There is now info on the Scooter Cannonball website with rider name, number and family contact info for those who want to express sympathy or share memories.
