I got Ales, Ciders and a new Golf Club for my birthday, so that's always going to cheer me up.

My vision benefit from work covers two pairs of Rx glasses each year. Last year I got a pair of regular glasses, as well as a pair of Rx sunglasses, both with the progressive Rx.

I'd noticed that I was having issues with my regular glasses when doing my schoolwork on the computer, and also when setting up the large format printers. Since my Rx didn't change much this year, I decide to get a pair of regular glasses, and a pair of Computer Progressive glasses.

My regular Rx is -1.00(right), -0.75(left), with the reading portion being +2.25 on each (plus CYL and AXIS adjustments for astigmatism).

The computer Rx is +.25(right), +.50 (left), with the reading portion being +1.25 on each (with the same CYL and AXIS adjustments).

Life is so much better with the computer Rx. I no longer have to look over the tops of the frames, or tilt my head back at an odd angle to be able to focus on the computer screen, or the edge of the media to make sure it's lined up at the correct spot on the printer. I can even pretty much wear them all day around the office, so long as I don't have to see something too far away.

On Thursday we dropped our skies off in Truckee for a preseason tuneup. Friday we got the first dusting of snow at Diamond Peak Ski Resort. Winter is coming! This cheers me up. ⛷️ 🎿

pike's and cheyenne have both been quite white at the top every morning for the past week or so. pike's it's gone by about 10am-noon but cheyenne seems to be sticking a lot longer.

i suspect a few weeks and riding season's over.

There will be several "rideable" days in Colorado Springs thru-out the winter - not necessarily into the mountains, but still rideable, though perhaps dodging unmelted ice/slush spots here and there.

I've been down once and am still recovering from the surgery.

I was on top of Pike's Peak last Sunday (Sep 28th). There was a bit of snow from a snowfall a few days earlier. Beautiful views!

We had our first camping trip in two years this past weekend. For the first week of October, I'll take the mid 80s weather. Here are some snapshots.

Further to the pissing-off saga of our UK camper-van developing a loud exhaust noise, I have been hugely cheered up by the fact all the relevant nuts'n'bolts came undone pretty easily, with no breakages - and that the diagnosis of a blown no.1 cylinder manifold gasket was correct. All parts should be here in the next couple of days - and then more travels!

Had a very nice autumn ride back home from Deadwood coffee late this morning, cool temps, blue skies, a great Black Hills road on a great motorcycle.

I was cheered up yesterday by going on a large circle route, racking up 75 miles, all my butt could take. I need to do more riding to "get in shape". I absolutely love the way this bike handles the hills. Even the steepest and longest one around here was no problem. Gotta love it!

Ditto today. Same great weather, same great Black Hills road, different great motorcycle to ride it on.

Wifes laptop got "win 10 enroll" today. Good.
