Some interesting points in this video about the Vespa involvement at the 1980 Dakar Rally. The big "cheat" almost put me off watching, but that's not really what it's about.

In 2021 I was very surprised when I found out that the two brothers - the pilots of the Vesp Dakar - are ethnic Ukrainians. A little later, I even talked to Bernard for a while.

That's awesome! This Vespa world is really quite small.

I thought that the comment about the 12" wheels was a mistake, but it's mentioned again in your link roland87. By the way that's a fascinating read, such a disappointment that there is not a single photo left from the whole collection.

Edit: I found an archived version from 2019 still with lots of pictures!
