A quick introduction - I'm a new owner of a 10-year old LT150. I'm in Malaysia and its my first bike at 43-years old.

It was unridden for 6 months before it fell in my hands, no accidents, working fine, prior to this only used for short trips to the nearby store and back. 9,200KM mileage since 2016. I've sent it for a major service. Oil + air filter changed, battery changed, rear tire changed, engine oil and other checks. All good.

Getting straight to it: I misjudged the weight of the bike when I stopped (noob mistake) and almost dropped it when I leaned to the left on my left leg, but I caught it before it fell. It nevertheless was tilted to the left near the ground.

1. In the attached picture, what seemed like petrol spilled out from this vent (circled). There doesn't appear to be a leak - it seemed like a pooling of liquid which poured out when the bike was tilted. Smelled like petrol but I could be wrong.

2. Referring to the arrow in the pic, the previous owner had a pipe here secured with a zip-tie. I didn't notice it earlier, but was drawn to it since I saw the liquid spill in #1 above. Is this normal, and what could this be?

Thank you for your time to read this. Hope some one out there has a similar experience in this. Thank you.

#2 is an air intake snorkel that runs under the floorboards feeding cool dry air into the transmission.

I wouldn't worry about the spill too much but inspect the engine bay to see if you can figure out where it came from.

Appreciate the reply znomit!

#1 - after the spill, there was no other leaks of any sort. I suspect if I didn't tilt the bike by accident, nothing would have spilt. If later upon inspecting the bike, nothing else has leaked then... it begs the question - why was there a pooling of liquids (in this case smelled like gas)

#2 - exactly where the arrow points to is a black band - this is that zip-tie. Very odd, but doesn't seem to affect the performance.

I guess I was more disturbed by that spill

If I am correct, the pipe or hose secured there on the left side should have a fitting on the end of it.

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

It's the drain hose for the carburetor float bowl. It should run upward and attach to the bottom of the carburetor. It lets you drain gas out of the carburetor before working on it. Usually the end with the fitting is attached to the CVT cover.

Check the screw on the end of it to make sure it's tight and not leaking.

See diagram here. Transmission Cover Air Intake Filter (Post 2305395)
It gets disconnected to service the transmission and is easy to not hook back up
