Hi everyone,
I have a 2011 PX150 that started leaking a lot of fuel whenever I flipped the petcock. From forum discussions I realized I needed to check the fuel line, which indeed had cracked and split where it enters the carburetor. The local repair shop had only had a woven, rubberized hose with the same inner diameter, but a much smaller outer diameter. The mechanic assured me it would work, but I have some concerns.

With a smaller outer diameter, it will not only draw unfiltered air into the carburetor, but I can imagine that it could have an effect on the fuel mixture itself. Is this a concern I should be worried about?

I really don't want to replace the hose with the original Piaggio that will only crack and have to be replaced again (this is the second time doing so, but the first I have attempted to do the job myself). What other options do I have?

Thanks,
Pato

Go with the woven one. I ran one like that for 10 years in a scooter I owned, it got grubby on tne fabric and that's all

Didn't even go brittle

I think your worrying too much

Actually, it will only draw air into the airbox but will still be filtered.

This is a very minor mechanical concern. I would put what the mechanic is offering you, as long as the inner diameter is the same I wouldn't overstress about the outer diameter. My only advise is to make sure that the actual hose does not get pinched between the gas tank and the frame, this happened to me, the fitment is tight.

That happened to me the first week I got the PX. I'll make sure the hose is not kinked anywhere.
I'm still a bit worried about dust collecting in the carb (having washed out the air filter and seeing all the gunk it's collected over the years) but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Thanks for the tips everyone!
