Modern Vespa

My long-stemmed FAR mirror snapped off at the base while riding this morning.
I installed these in 2013 - a very hard-to-find mirror purchased from an Italian seller on eBay. (long gone...)
10mm stems - but long - 12 yrs of rough roads caught up with this one.
The stock Kymco mirrors are approx 1/2 the length of these FAR mirrors.

FAR's are HTF this side of the pond.
Hope to find another and thread it, w/lock nut, back into the present adapter.

Is there enough left to thread the remaining stem?

Thats a complete write off. New scooter time.

Still got the original mirrors on my Like 200-the only items to rust. Had them soaking in rust remover, wire brushed and galvanised painted. Couple of months have passed-and guess what-
However the good news is the very nice Puig windscreen that arrived from Spain and uses the mirrors as anchor points.

I still have like new stock LIKE200I mirrors in a drawer.
Frankly, they are so short for my needs - I'd sooner sell the scooter than ride with 0 vision behind myself! I've a set of chrome Liberty (same mirror as on many Vespas)....longer that the Kymco's. Might be able to use them.
Goodness knows there are any number of mirror adapters out there!

What if just make a thread to snapped one?

TIG to the rescue. Easy fix. Ride on.

Stress fractures caused by metal fatigue are annoying.

Easy replacement with a duplicate FAR mirror from SIP.

BTW - www.moto-science.com looks like it'd be a much better source for Itlaian FAR mirrors, than was SIP (price, shipping and expert advice on how to fit their mirror to your bike)
