Hello,
I was owning piaggio mp3 300 and after month i have realized that it is very side heavy to me even it has tilt lock. I did not realize how it can be side heavy until i got road works on my way home from work. On uneven terrain when mp3 goes on side it is very heavy and i almost cannot stop it. I was riding before some bikes on two wheels and did not realize that. Am i just getting to old for riding big bike and i should by some 125 medley or liberty or vespa or mp3 is side heavy. so my question is does some other three wheeled bikes feel that side heavy? What is comparison with yamaha tricity or Quadro qv3 that has different tilting mechanism? I cannot find anything than mp3 in my vicinity but can buy tricity and qv3 but only online. Does anybody on forum have tried other three wheeled scooter?

Please define "side heavy".

The mp3 feels most like a motorcycle (to me), but it has a tendency to understeer (to me). MP3s are porky bikes, just is.

The Yamaha feels lighter on its feet and is nimbler but its tilt lock feels wobbly and not very planted

Don't know about Quadro and wonder if they're even still in business. I've only seen 1 Quadro in the wild, ever

Many of the riders in our maxi scooter group went to Can-Am Spyders when their bikes got too heavy for them, but I have a feeling that's not what you want. How about switching to a lighter scooter like a Medley or Liberty?

The MP3 can feel very heavy when tilted over a few degrees, which makes it feel very heavy indeed to those with shorter legs. Most scooters can be pulled back upright very easily even when tilted over many degrees - but once the MP3 is past a certain point you need to be pretty damn strong to keep it from tipping right over.

My mp3 was very heavy to me when i stooped not riding. When i stop on traffic light and if a road is on slight angle and mp3 is tilted few degrees it feels very heavy. Not to mention if there is passenger which have very high seating position than it was a problem to me to stop the mp3 to tilt more. Tilt lock works great nut that is not applicable to all situation. I have buyed mp3 without trying it and after a years of not riding and at first i was thinking that i need just to get used to it because i did not ride for a long time. I recently have tried my friends honda which weights about the same and have two wheels and it is much lighter than mp3. But certainly i love the safety feeling that gives me three wheels. So i was wondering if yamaham quadro or peugeots three wheeled scooter have the sime problem with heavy feeling when it is stopped and tilted a little.

MP3 500 is a heavy beast but manageable, love the tilt lock and extra grip on road in front, however simple solution, if you feel you cannot handle it, go rent a small scoot for a few days and see how it feels, its the only way to decide.

I got on better with my Peugeot Metropolis in the situations you're talking about due to the lower seat height. It's heavier than my 300HPE but felt more manageable at low speed and on uneven ground.

As I've stated a thousand times, motorcycles are like clothing.

You don't buy size 13 shoes when you have size 10 feet.

Buying a vehicle, especially a motorcycle, without a test ride is plain dumb and foolish

Buy a bike that suits you and you can master under all circumstances, for your safety and the safety of other road users.
