The top picture is the papal palace at Viterbo.

The giant emerging from the ground is a curveball -- it is a reproduction of a cast aluminum sculpture called The Awakening that used to be in Washington D.C., but has since been moved to Maryland.

The one in your photo appears to be Il Risveglio, currently located in Valle di Faul Park in Viterbo, Italy. Apparently it is made of fiberglass, not cast aluminum like the original. Prior to being in Viterbo, it was displayed in several other places within Italy as well.

Notably, there is yet another version of "The Awakening" called "The Awakening II", located in Missouri.

PeterCC, I agree 100% Viterbo is a beautiful town. So much history and well preserved! The 30meter 5000kg Saint Rosa monument is carried thru the town annually on the shoulders of 100 men😳
The hot spring in the photo is the Source that provides therapeutic thermal water to several pool facilities throughout.

- It is a traffic jam, not because of some incident or something, but because there is always a traffic jam there, at least in summer
