The leaf turn and the mist on the water (suggesting the water and associated humid air are warmer than the air above) point to someplace with a climate quite different from Arizona. Seems like that tree to the right ought to be a clue to the region.

Well, I'm waiting for someone to enlighten us about what that species is to the right in the photo. It does not grow around the area where I live.

Much closer, and not new, as much as jess would like this thread to be a travelog. We could go through all the states of New England, but instead I think I'll give az_slynch the win, as it was taken from my parents deck in NCentral Mass. When we lived in Colorado and had two weeks off, we would visit Mrs Syd's parents in AZ in spring and my 'rents in the fall. Since that was, uhh, many years ago, the pic posted may be from the '90s. I always liked it.

Man, I was just pokin' ya. I lived in southern NH for almost two decades and the scene looked vaguely familiar. Dooglas's comments made me think about it some more and I figured I'd toss a dart with a vague Monty Python reference and a nod to my "home" state (I knew all the references in the SSP's song).

I've now lived in Arizona longer than I lived in New Hampshire, but I still have a fondness for the Granite State. My buddy's wife is from western Mass ( west'a Worcester) and we love to trade regional references while the poor guy wonders what the hell we're talking about.

This restaurant is in the little community of Cross Creek, near Hawthorne.

It was there when I attended the nearby University of Florida fifty years ago.

There is a thread on one of the big social media platforms that asks to guess the location of different airports.

Yesterday a familiar one popped up.

It was an overhead view of the L. F. Wade International Airport in Bermuda.

I was familiar with it because I was the designated airport architect for the Ministry of Works and Engineering, Bermuda Government from 1991 through 1993, designing several projects including rerouting incoming passengers through immigration, customs and baggage.

I very much enjoyed those three years, living in paradise with an easy but productive job.

In the meantime they built an entirely new airport structure, so my work is now in an unused building.

There actually is a pharmacy in there, and has been since 1931, when that's all it was.

Interstate 70, exit 89, Blackwater, Missouri. I tend to avoid that part of Missouri after going thru Army basic training at Fort Leonard Wood.

I tend to avoid missouri entirely but when you're driving from maryland to colorado (in a 6.5mpg beast i might add) you go the shortest fastest route available lol.
