Gotcha. It seemed like there were a lot of 1920s-era bridges up in that area. Lived in Huntsville for a decade. Wish I'd done more riding while I was there.

Bingo! Took old 431 to avoid 65+mph traffic new 431 riding to Guntersville dam.

That is a nice ride. I used to live off Little Cove Rd, in Owen's Crossroads. My buddy still lives in Ryland. We'd occasionally go to Moontown Airport to check out experimental aircraft. Riding Keel Mountain was fun, but one of my favorite bits was the Crow Mountain Hillclimb route.

Take Tupelo Pike (County 21) from Scottsboro about 12.5 miles north until you hit County 33. Take a left on 33. It's about five miles to the County 111 junction; that's the start of the climb. It's a ziggy little bit of road up to Clemons Point that settles after two miles and brings you back west to State 79 between Hytop and Skyline.

If you don't want to take 79 south to 72, you can take County 17 west out of Skyline for about 3.75 miles and take a right onto County 8. That's a nice little run back down to Woodville.
