So in linear order, below are the symptoms of my 2021 GTS 300.

1, A very brief loss of complete power, ie engine cut out for about a second before resuming. I was riding at around 50mph at this point.

2, The speedometer intermittently dropped to zero and whilst doing so the ABS light came on. This lasted on and off for about an hour before I got to my destination.

3, Next day the scoot started but stalled within a few yards, I tried this 3 times with a pillion and once solo but every time it cut out soon after moving.

The Vespa is now in France waiting to be repatriated and I'll either get it to a garage when it gets back or try and fix it depending on the advice I receive.

With luck it's as simple as a poor battery connection.

As noted check battery terminal tightness.

Also check that spark plug cap is fully seated and HT wire twisted in tight in cap.

A loose battery connection or loose fuse does throw up weird faults , but….I would expect to see all the engine mgt light abs and a speedo sweep as it reconnected. On my 2024 gts super I get a software message once power is restored.

Some times just bad Mo-Jo……. However, I agree a loose battery terminal will/and do produce these symptoms. Easy fix. 10 mm wrench. Careful not to touch anything metal when checking the positive (+) terminal.

Also, check your tire pressures.

I had my 2023 GTS cut out very similarly after picking up a nail, losing air pressure.

Considering the amount of bad weather you've ridden through I think that water has got in somewhere.

I know it sounds strange.

The traction control kicks in when the tire pressure gets low, causing the fuel to cut off.

When it happened to me, it started, then stopped, then started again, symptoms similar to those mentioned.

That is probably not Coddy's problem, but it is an easy check.

Well it got repatriated after 3 weeks to the day and it turned out to be a loose battery connection.

I'm not going to stress about how easy it was to fix and could have fixed it abroad because the torx screwdriver and the long reach screwdriver I would have needed I wouldn't have thought to take with me as space was at a premium being two up and I decided not to take a tool selection.

Great you got it back and easily fixed the problem.

I never leave home without my Quezzie-inspired tool roll. But then again, my wife doesn't want to ride on the buddy… 🙃
