Hello and greetings from Finland!

Is there any high mileage Vespas here? Bottomline is, that what kind of risk it is to buy over 30 000 km driven GTS?

Of course everything depends of services, but is there any major parts, which may require changing? Brakes, liquids, filtters and that kind of staff is obvious, but anything else? Brakecalibers, piston or valves, shocks or any anusual things?

Any thoughts?

30,000km? No problem! As long as it's been looked after and serviced, just carry on. There's nothing much else that needs doing over and above normal service items.

My friend, Russ, who runs the 7 Bridges Scooter Club, now has over 66,000 miles on his 2012 GTS.

He has had very few issues with his.

He takes great care of it, following the maintenance routine to the letter.

I got 76,000 miles out of my first Vespa GT before changing the engine.

That one now is pushing 110,000 miles.

As for brakes, I changed the front brake pads on that one recently, completely worn out at 107,000 miles.

Take care of them and they will hold up for a long time.

Bill

Tires, fluids, valve clearance, belt and rollers are the only truly "regular" maintenance items, along with checking everything else and replacing as needed.

As long as you're keeping up with the scheduled stuff and not deferring, they really can take a load of abuse and keep going.

At home in Canada I ride a 2008 GT200L and my wife rides a 2007 GTS250ie. I do all the maintenance. Zen and the Art of Vespa Maintenance. It's satisfying, relatively simple, small scale mechanics compared to a car or truck. These machines just go and go when properly maintained.

We recently returned from a month in Greece where we rented GTS 300s and adventured thousands of kms. The rental Vespas were terrific. For instance, on Corfu we rented two GTS 300's from Katerina & Nikos at Corfu Vespa Rentals and Tours where we completely took apart the entire island traversing the mountains over crazy switchbacks, finding hidden gem beaches to swim in the Ionian Sea in remote settings, and finding great tavernas, cafe's and bakeries. Highly recommend Corfu Vespa Rentals. Nikos does all the maintenance on their extensive Vespa fleet. One of our rentals there was a 2019 GTS 300 with 55,000 kms. From the way it looked and rode you'd think it was brand new. A testament to both Vespa's durability and to Nikos's meticulous, prideful care.

If the moto you're thinking of buying is sound, just maintain it well and don't worry about 30k miles..
Viva Vespa!!

My 2005 GT200L/N has just turned 36,000 miles with mods to
Carburetor -big jets/shorter spring
Air box- deleted tube/smoothed out intake of box/inside chopped out all the hurdles for better air flow/mallosi filter
Cat converter deleted
SAS system deleted and blanked off
Leo Vince 4 roads full exhaust
140 degree thermostat
Electric water pump
Oil change every 1,000 miles with a strong magnet on my oil filter for extra cleanliness
Two inline fuel filters
Naturally aspirated nitrous system
Starts first time idles perfect and has the
Oomph to get out of the way and pass cars all day
Super reliable and I'm looking forward to the next 36,000 miles and beyond.

Goot tip but could be bad even no kms as rubber could just get old by age/sun.

I changed last summer my over 30 000km Vespa to new one, and there is and was no noticeable difference on ride.
