Has anyone successfully replaced a half of engine casing? PX engine, 200 possibly.

For an example one half is damaged and mandates a replacement. And let's assume this half is available new. Would the crankshaft bearing seats in this newly put together engine have to be line bored in order to ensure that crankshaft is positioned correctly? 🤔

Thanks in advance

No.
The cases originally are machined together.
Getting a new side you have a 50/50 chance of things lining up properly.

Can it work? Possibly. I have a mismatched case set on my shelf. One day I'll put it together just to see.

My p200 has mismatched halves... but they are somewhat close in age/production. It is definitely not recommended, but... it can be done in a pinch with varying degrees of reliability/safety.

I've run mismatched 200 cases with no issues. Both were aligning though at the cylinder base…

I've used mismatched 200 cases before. Of course it's not ideal, but if it happens to work just fine, then run with it.
