As I was doing measurements today, for the mods I'm planning to do on my LML, I came to realisation that the floor boards on my scoot are bent. ๐Ÿคจ They are slightly bent down, in the region where the rider and pillion rest their feet. Slightly forward and aft of the traversal board reinforcement.

For what it's worth, I didn't find any rust, nor cracks. Looks too me like previous owner used to stand on the boards while scooter was resting on the centre stand. That or he rode standing. I dunno. Thoughts?

Is this common?

Yeah, unfortunately it is. People sit on them on the stand and roll off the center stand with all their weight on it. Or tie down the scooter on the center stand.

They make reinforcement plates for under the stand to help mitigate this issue...

Thanks for the info. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

What would be the common fix, hammering the boards back into position, then reinforcing, or replacement?

Panel beating back into true and welding a reinforce plate underneath 2mm is good, 3mm better

What goes as reinforcement these days, something like this?

https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/main-stand-reinforcement-plate-for-vespa-px80-200-pe-lusso-98-my-t5_12355100

I can't find the "K" and "X" reinforcements anywhere, and I still don't own a bead roller to produce some. 3d printer to the rescue... ๐Ÿค”

If your looking to buy something, rather than weld a plate on yourself, you could far worse than this one

This is far too good of a lookin' for my scoot ๐Ÿ˜

Kidding aside, I'm ok with making my own. In fact, it'll be a nice exercise in what you can do with a 3d printer. A show'n'tell if you like. But that's gonna be in October I think. ๐Ÿค”
