61 Allstate VNB2. With years of experience on small Honda MC's lighting systems, meaning don't let the revs go down at night or you will disappear into the dark, I'm going to add a battery to my restoration. Planning on running the two "lighting coils" yellow wires to the yellow wire of a 6V full wave rectifier/regulator. I'm going to lift the ground tabs off the other end of the coils and run out to the pink wire on the R/R. This will utilize both the positive and negative waves. Will abandon the brake light coil and probably remove it all together. Will also remove white ( mine is heavier gauge yellow replaced at one time) from circuit. 6V+ output of R/R to AGM battery. Will run new fused 6V+ bus to handlebar switch tagging off to brake switch and horn along the way. Possibly a switch on the bus wire to kill it. Handlebar/brake switch will provide ground path for these users. Will adapt 6V DC horn to original position. Ground side of battery to frame with possible other ground straps if needed. Usually only ride in daylight but this will give a strong brake light and horn. Headlight/taillight will be bright and not rpm dependent. Comments are welcome.

I plan to do the same on my build, for the same reason.

To that name, I'm shamelessly uploading someone else's sketch (SLUK) to illustrate in essence what you're doing.

Is there a reason you're going this route? Staying on 6V makes very little sense if you're going DC since most of the things you're going to power prefer 12-18V, e.g. LED's.

Why don't you just get a 12V stator (or coils) and reg/rec, then wire that in?

What is the upside to sticking with 6v? I can't think of any

No one will steal your scoot at night because they can't see to ride off on it.

Totally disagree! Nobody will see you drive off with it cause the lights are too dim. 🤣
