Hello, last night coming from work I noticed a wheel bearing sound when I pushed the scooter inside the garage (usually I just ride inside) so put scooter on center stand and wheel was making some sounds turning by hand more like if you push the brake! and turn the rear wheel by hand that type of sound. This morning turn wheel by hand no sound!go to work turn wheel by hand and sound came back,it only does after a ride. Checked for play several time no play . Bad bearings? What you guys think? 2022 Vespa gts hpe 6200 miles. Sorry for my English I know it's not the best.

Without hearing the noise, nobody here will be able to give you a qualified answer.

Is it more of a grinding, milling, scraping, crunching or creaking noise? Metallic? Etc...

It's best to make a video and upload it to YT, FB or another platform and link it here. Make sure that the privacy settings allow us to watch the video without logging in.

After you have previously applied the brake while riding, the brake pad will be in contact with the brake disk - without pressure but nevertheless. This is because the disc brake is hydraulically actuated and does not reset or release the brake callipers completely. Resetting takes place after a few revolutions of the wheel due to the minimal imbalance of the brake disk - and a slight grinding noise occurs in the process.

You can also try braking hard a few times with the rear brake. Pay attention to safe road conditions and traffic!

Without hearing it, best guess is GermanGTSdriver has it. Pretty low mileage for bearing failure, and the grinding should be persistent, not intermittent. Good news, you don't have a project!

Try this -just for the hell of it. Right after a ride put scoot up on center stand. Turn rear wheel ( sound you speak of is present right ?) ok, now hit rear tire w/ fist or shoe on the tire sidewall, do both sides 2-3 times. Noise is less or gone ? Like other posters have said. Brake disc pads slight drag. Normal. Hitting tire, the brake disc pushes the brake pads away ( if only a couple thousands ).Hopefully this puts your mind at rest. FYI ,Bearings noises don't correct them selves after sitting. Now go drink a couple beers and ponder riding in the Alps, or some other majestic roads/ scenery.

You are right! Metal expands when hot,a bad bearing will not fix himself plus sound is minimal. Thanks i going to have a beer!

Are you sure it's not the clutch needle bearing?

I guess they could go early, but @ 6200 miles?

Just got the sake of it, how would one sort that out?

Easiest, quickest, least aggravation and cheapest if paying someone else: replace the whole clutch.
