Hello everybody,

I've been riding an Elettrica 45 (2019) for 3 years, 8000 km.
I'm the second owner and have taken it to the dealership every year.

Strangely enough, it started aggressively draining the 12V battery a few months ago.
One day, the primary fuse (15A) kept blowing for some reason.

After several days of checking every cable and parts, I discovered that the instrument cluster (oem 1D002094) was causing the blown fuse.

Dealership of course suggested to replace it entirely, but I don't want to give up that easily.
I took it to an electronics shop hoping to have the PCB checked, but the owner didn't managed to pry it open (heat gun at 350°C / 660°F started to melt the plastic casing Laughing emoticon ).

Does one know if opening it is even feasible ?

Thanks,

As you'd have to replace it anyway if you can't open it - I'd try cutting it open by carefully using a hacksaw blade all the way round.

Good luck - I hope it isn't all encapsulated inside.

Thanks to Steelbytes, I now know that the lower and upper end are glued together.
We'll try to find a workaround cutting it open...

Update
The electronics shop managed to open the instrument cluster... with damage, as it definitely wasn't meant to be opened.

The circuit's TVS diode was shorted, they will replace it.

Since the cause could be multiple things, I'm hoping my inverter is not faulty...
