Gonna use your suggestion put it back together stock. I am an old guy so I am very familiar with points and condenser ignitions. Does anybody have some resistance readings between the green blue and black wires? With the points open I get about 1/2 ohm open to closed difference. Blue to black is about . 3 ohms. Doesnt sound correct to me. Before I reassembly are these readings any good?
The green wire went to the coil. Black is ground and blue is the lighting coils?

A regulator in your glove box definitely doesnt mean youre looking for a battery.

If you had a rectifier then you may be looking for a battery...but not always

A regulator keeps the raw AC voltage from the coil to some acceptable limit (12vac?) to power all things that need AC ie AC Horn AC lamps

A rectifier converts AC voltage to DC voltage, so if anything on your scoot runs from DC then it would probably have started life going throught the rectifier

This is what stator you have, so you should be able to work with this diagram as far as the basic ignition circuit goes. Blue is unregulated 12v AC, black is "ground", green is the low tension circuit for the ignition coil.

As a fellow "old guy" l wish you a grand journey on your new adventure.

If just getting spark is your only job this should get you there. The green wire circuit is all you should be concerned with. Don't think DC battery and coil ignition, think lawnmower.

Hopefully you aren't going to be married to this.

If you come back to the discussion it would be nice to hear about your experiences with the project. It's only fair...
