I'm wondering if anyone has seen this?

The keyless ignition switch is loose, and as it rattles around it causes the bike to cut out. In this video you can see it cutting out as I wiggle it.

It's been getting progressively worse over the last two days, so I suspect whatever is coming undone, is getting more undone with every ride. Therefore, it stands to reason to me that sooner or later it's going to completely dismantle itself, which I suspect will be a lot worse than it is now!

Thew bike is under warranty, but due to the fact it's getting looser with each ride, I'd rather DIY it, if poss.

So, has anyone seen this?

Also, has anyone seen one of these switches dismantled? If I cna get at it, is it possible to tighten it up?

This is the part: https://www.easyparts-recambios.es/Keyless-Lock-Components_%28Recambios-originales%29-p33790966

There are two distinct parts, and it's the key switch insert that is loose. I'm not sure by looking at the pics how'd you'd tighen it up, if I can get at it.

If anyone has any experience, I'd love to hear from you.

No help but I have a BV 400 and have had no problem. I know the key set up is kinda weird. Are you the original owner? Anyone try forcing/ turning the switch without pushing it in first could make this happen ( guessing). Be interested to find out the fix. Thanks.

Just thought I'd update this.

After nearly three weeks I've learnt something new about Spain: warranties are not worth a damn!

The garage took the bike in, had it for over a week but did nothing. In the end I took it back as they made it very clear it was very low down their priority list. They maybe might be able to look at it at the end of Sept!

No amount of of pointing out my legal rights made any difference. The threat to return the bike to the dealer and start legal proceedings for a refund were met with that classic Spanish shoulder shrug!

So I'm back to square one and figured I've no choice but to dive in!

Hi, I am presenting the exact same problem, already took all the screws out ( different sizes, different threats, different heads haha).
So, by placing the straps can fix the cutting out problem, but then you will not be able to access the refrigerant reservoir easy ? Is that right pal? . I want to be sure to have the right solution before placing All the things back

Thank you very much

I have the same problem. Turn the dial to on and notice the dash lights cut on and off like a short circuit. A simple wiggle of the ignition dial to just the right place keeps it on, but there's something loose in there somewhere.
I've been able to work with it and just wiggle it to make it work, and once it's on it tends to stay on, but this may deteriorate over time, so if anyone knows the fix or what part to replace please post.

You just need a new ignition switch - 643132 (ex 582951). They do fail, but are cheap enough to keep a spare.

Seeing the pics, it's definitely the switch that has failed. Correct part code is: 1D002851, different plug on newer models…
