need to do this on my lx150. easy enough? I bought the 3 spoon set of amzn some time ago. where'd you source the rubber? and did you balance?

Thanks for any advice as I undertake this journey. I can pay $100 to the tire shop next time I go into a decent-sized city but I'd rather diy.

It took me a couple/few hours, I spent quite a bit of time trying to get the tire back on the rim and also trying to reattach the muffler I bought the tire off Revzilla, I have bought them off Amazon before but they were out of stock for the size I needed. I did not balance, once I got the tire on the wheel I did take it to America's Tire to have them add air and they did it for free, mainly because I don't have a tire inflator/compressor just a regular bicycle pump, if I had to do it again, I would have added some balancing beads, even without balancing though it seems to ride fine, just like it did before. I would try and put the bike center stand on a piece of 2x4 or raise it up in some fashion if you can to give you more underneath access, I would also consider having available a flexible drive bit extension as it can improve access to muffler mounting bolts, spray bottle with soapy water to lube tire and rim with, extra set of hands could be helpful for holding one of the spoons when remounting tire on wheel and for holding the muffler when reattaching, heating up the tire in the sun can make it more pliable. Good luck! It was my first time and I got it done by myself just in the parking lot at my apt with the same spoon set so I'm sure you can too. Dont forget to replace the valve stem.

One other thing too that you may already be aware of, don't take turns too aggressively in the first 100 miles or so because the tire will still be somewhat slick so you don't want it to slide out when leaning in a turn.
