Modern Vespa

After 25 years in boxes I'm resurrecting my sweet p. I thought I was going to keep it original so ordered a new eight pin loom to suit. It was only after installing it that I became aware of the condition of my stator, wires crumbly and tired. Now you can get a new vape dc ignition, I thought—and a sip speedo and a 3.1 exhaust:) I just didn't think how it would all go together. So now before ripping out the loom and rebuilding it to suit my new setup, I'm trying to figure out if I can use the ac loom—add a wire here, delete a wire there, and voila…dc. Anybody have experience in this? I've spent many hours staring at it, poking at it with a multimeter, wishing I'd just rebuilt the stator. My pea brain just can't handle this exercise.

You can use single yellow loom for full DC. Simply use the power coming off of indicator flasher and tie onto purple heading to the headlight. You will need to use a different rectifier- VAPE or other.

Easy peasy.

Too invested to just rewire stator now, I think with the sip speedo and want of led lights my future will be brighter with DC.
