I am converting to 12v with a vape ignition.

I have spent a couple weeks trying to feed the harness through the bike with no luck. I can't get anything through the throat of the bike without a wire leader.

I went ahead and used my existing outer throttle cable for a leader and finally got the harness through. My thought was that getting another outer throttle cable through would be easier than the whole harness. I have spent all day using different methods trying to get another outer throttle cable through the bike.
No luck.

At this point I don't know what to do.
Should I take all outer cables out and start fresh?

I feel like my bike is gaslighting me.
What is going on in there.

Any strategies are appreciated.

Always get so much insight from the forum. Thanks.

I'm doing the same thing. There is a bulkhead just infront of the brake pedal pivot, that can be a real pain in the a$$ to get around. Just stick your phone down in the body, and snap some pics. It help to see what you're doing.
This is a pic of mine, harness in, and one gear cable in. ( it's wrong, it shouldn't feed under the brake tube)
You could drill a hole to make the job easier (Please don't)
Persistence is the name of the game!
You'll get it.

Thanks for the pic. I have taken a few as well.
What is the hole indicated in my photo? Should I be using this for anything?

It sounds like I am hitting metal. I can't get around the area no matter what I do. Here is a photo of the wires.

Try going down from the top to the tank area with a fish tape, or weed whacker line, then use the fishtape, or line, to gently pull the wiring loom back up into the neck.

You'll have to use finesse when it comes to getting through the "transition" from horizontal to vertical into the neck shaft. It's a little of pull / push / wiggle / pull, etc, etc.

Also, some sort of lubricant on the sheaths of the wires makes the job much easier also.

Good luck! You've got this. I'd love to see pictures of where the wires are coming out at the other end.

I used baby powder for the harness, and that worked pretty well. Weed wacker line is a great idea. Here are some shots of the wires. All cables are still attached to their endpoints.

Twist the cable slowly as you push it.
If you come to a dead end, back up and twist it a bit the other direction while pushing forward.
A little grease on the end of the cable helps.

Got it through going through the horn and then sending a lead wire down throat to grab the other end. Thanks for all you help.
