Modern Vespa

Hello all,
I was having running issues with my little 2 stroke 50cc primavera 2016 so the mechanic decided to change the ECU but that didn't work. They then changed the vacuum tap and that didn't work. They then wanted a new Malossi carburettor and that didn't work either. It's been going on for over a year and buses are rubbish.
For some reason the mechanic decided to upgrade to the Malossi piston and head and it ran for 2 days and it's now parked up on a moody estate on White Hart Lane all sad and lonely.
Everything else on the scooter is 50cc factory fixtures. I've read that the exhaust, ecu etc need to be upgraded as well but the mechanic said that she had jetted the brand new carburettor and drilled a hole somewhere on the exhaust. If anyone out there can give me a little bit of advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Can't on the upgrades, but maybe find a new mechanic. Why is he changing parts at random instead of properly diagnosing the problem?

Have you tried throwing your mechanic under said bus and finding another?

The way blighty is nowadays especially on a moody estate just let them nick it and claim insurance and get a new ride, its probably only worth fifty quid now that your wannabe ed china has butchered it.

have the hack mechanic put the original parts back on. Find a competent repair shop.

It's a well known motorcycle/ scooter mechanic shop in Tottenham and even though I've always thought that they were just plucking ideas out from nowhere I had to stick with them because any other mechanic would rip their work to pieces and I'd obviously be paying out even more money.
I haven't been able to use it since January 2024 , just getting mucked around by this establishment and losing 4 hours of every day on public transport. Painful is an understatement.

Find a new mechanic. There's no ECU on a 2 stroke non injection, Piaggio engine, just a plain CDI. These are the simplest engines to work with and upgrade to a 'rocket' with some good aftermarket parts. Replacing parts without being able to diagnose the exact problem shows that he's a hack...

They are quite well known and even worked on a project for the " Bangers and Cash " show on the telly.

I knew that they had run out of things to replace and blame.
Luckily I emailed her asking if everything would be compatible with what she had planned and she replied saying that it was a straight swap.
The hole that she drilled in the exhaust won't pass the MOT will it?

Does anyone know a trustworthy mechanic or might know of one in North London.
It shouldn't be this painful to make me really enjoy the hours that I get to ride it every year should it?
It will all come out in the wash.

These are the details of what my mechanic has told me was causing the running issues on my 2016 primavera 50cc .
Can anyone help with areas to look at now please.
