I performed the first service myself on my 2024 GTV and had a couple observations that I wanted to ask. Everything went fairly fine. I was able to change the oil and gear oil close to mess free with a "motorcycle oil filter funnel" I had from an old Harley I had back in the day. If you search on Amazon you'll find it too.
Questions:
1. Taking off part of the plastics on top of the belt housing, there's this foam ring that's a air filter essentially. When the housing came off, this filter was cut and kinda all mashed up on one side. I am assuming that when assembled at the factory it wasn't seated properly and somehow got cut. I plan on replacing it, but I was able to get it securely put in properly, with the cut end on the opposite end of the air intake. Is this bad or is it good for now do you think? (pic attached)
2. Once the cover of the belt and variator was off, the center pulley seemed to be pretty covered with belt rubber. Does this look normal for 625 miles? (pic attached)
Overall it took me about 5 hours to do the full service while referencing the Vespa Shop manual and a lot of Robot's videos. Went with no problems except what I said above, and 1 screw missing at the front of the left side skirt assembly which looks like it never existed either. I also installed the sight glass oil pan while I had everything apart and it works perfectly, a great addition!
Whoever designed the drain areas for the oil and gear oil needs to be fired.
