I am not sure if I should install a switch for the GS150 hand brake lever to activate the brake light the same way the foot lever works or I should just keep it as original as possible.

What do you guys think?

If you can find the switch or fabricate something that doesn't ruin the aesthetic, sure why not. Never hurts to be seen when you're braking.
good luck finding one of these

Scooter west has both the switch and mounting bracket listed.
You will need to drill and tap the lever, for the post the switch hits.

You would be better off installing a P style inline switch that you can hide in the headset rather than an external thing.

I don't see the point in trying to add a switch. I'm not a saint with my build but that seems ludicrous in my mind.
