Is there any trick to fit rubber air intake boot on the chassis side?

I'm struggling to getting it on

The way I do it, but there may be easier

I remove the airbox and air filter. Then pit the frame connection first. Then do tne carb box and use fingers to manipulate the airbox hose in place through the carb box

You can heat rubber with a hair dryer or in hot water (not boiling) to make it more pliable.

I cheated on my last one. Sprayed it with 75% isopropyl alcohol, which made it laughably easier to install.

OK, I'll try heating it, thanks.

Get a bowl of hot water outside, stick it in that for 10 mins. It will be nice and flexible to get it on. You can do the same with fitting new handlebar grips too, makes them expand, shove on the handlebars easy and when they cool they are completely tight. I always do the carb box end first paying attention to the slot on the air tube by rotating on the carb box until the slot is roughly lined up between the frame and the hose.

Give it a try... it makes the job way easier. I mount it with the carb completely assembled, like in the pic.
