Fowlers have advised me that Piaggio are no longer supplying throttle cables for my 2008 and 2010 MP3 500 - who is the best quality supplier? Thanking you in advance

I had a similar experience sourcing these as well. I eventually found both the open and close cables on E-bay.

How prown to failure is the throttle cable? Thinking maybe I should get one to squirrel away just in case.

My mp3 250 is year 2007 and never need to change the throttle cable, so I think you are ok only changing if really needed 😉

The only reason I needed them was because the MP3 I am working on was stored outside for a few years and not ridden so they seized up.

thank you for your replies - my closing cable has sheared after only 11,000 miles in 15 years, only discovered that, when replacing my heated throttle grip - when some vandal ripped off the power supply wire.

I am looking for recommendations for a quality replacement throttle cable, which are apparently a sod to install. Hopefully outlast the 15 years service provided by the original, but now unavailable Piaggio product. Cheers
