I have been shopping around for an old two stroke motorcycle. All the guys say the same thing. Its only original once. Me , I paint to vastly improve . Especially on these poorly originally painted vehicles. I think you can make your paint look way better by sanding with 3000 grit wet paper. The shiny finish looks bad. A matt finish will look better.

You would be crazy respraying a Rally with OG paint and at this kind of state. Polish it and keep it as it is. Come to the 'Not So Modern' sub forum and you'll get all the needed info…

Don't repaint it. You'll regret it. Especially on a Rally.

I dont think the bike is "original paint" . Rear of bike looks original. Front of bike looks like its been repainted.

Might try rubbing compound on the older paint to match the gloss of the newer.
